Odex Website, again

13 10 2007

I know I really should be getting to work on the Character Introduction for zenime, but I find myself helplessly attracted to the train crash that is the Odex website.

They updated with a few things, and their idea of the “community” being nothing more than a show for the Japanese representative is further reinforced.

Honestly, I don’t care about your store locations, nor your ideas for a new world order, not when you can’t even satisfy what little customers you have.
After the minor fiasco where members of their forums discovered that the forums had been taken down without notice and replaced with a “This page is getting a new look” message. Poor sgcafers who made the choice of trusting Odex to be more open towards discussion were betrayed again.

The Community button at the top of the frontpage used to lead to the forums, now it leads to a “Community” page. And then links only to the much-shot to holes FAQ, no less.

And then there’s the store locations. Odex has no stores of its own, just retailers.

Dear Kinokuniya,
I am very disappointed in your choice of anime to stock, or rather, the distributor which you chose to supply the anime. As an anime fan, I believe that everyone should all have the choice of the best and highest quality DVD available to us. ODEX has shown it has poor quality, outdated disc format, and ‘heavily referenced‘ fansubs. As a leading chain which specialises in Japanese products, I believe that original Japanese products should be brought in rather than poor copies by ODEX.

Also, you’re supporting known criminals.

Yours Sincerely,
-Insert name here-

Well, that was a crappy letter.

Anyway, Media Release.

Their press release is too wordy. PHAIL.

if it was a 25marks essay, I’d give it 10/25. 10 marks for the effort to type out the words.

I wouldn’t even give them that. It was probably a copy-paste affair from the free articles available.

You may get into trouble if you post that message template created by digigatou. Hence, I’ve recreated a brand new last paragraph that’s much better 🙂

Also, you’re supporting unethical businessmen who have no qualms about spewing forth lies and have virtually no respect for the law by misusing it as a tool to scare people into giving them money.

Yours Sincerely,

It hasn’t been revived since it was hacked into. More proof of their “sincerity” and “dedication”.
